Originally from the land of Ket where he was quite well known, Llywelyn left for the solitude and freedom of the Vesve Forest. He now lives in the town of Quaalsten where he maintains a modest home. There he does quiet research and practices his magical skills.

Llywelyn left Ket because he didn't like way the land was being ruled. He has met the renowned great Rary of Ket, and has respect for his power but he has ideological differences with the man and doesn't consider him a friend.

Llywelyn generally keeps to himself but has some friends one of whom is Eldrik Wyndwalker. Llywelyn is a frequent visitor to Baggy's Pipe and Tobacco Shop and is on good terms with the Hobbit who runs it, whom he also considers a friend.

Llywelyn has an odd friendship with Chip Browntoothed. One day Chip decided the old man was a good target to bully, not realizing the great powers of the wizard. When Llywelyn grew tired of the abuse of the half-orc, he cast a spell over Chip that so enfeebled him that the wizard was easily able to beat the half-orc to within an inch of his miserable life. From that point on Chip has idolized the wizard.
